Location. The Amrath Hotel is located in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, less than one kilometre away from the shops and restaurants of the city centre. The famous cheese market and the main train station are within one kilometre of the hotel.
Hotel Features. Completed in 2005, the Amrath Hotel is a modern property set in tree lined grounds. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available in the lobby, where guests can also relax in front of the television. Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk offer a dry cleaning service, and can assist with room service requests (limited hours), and the use of the safe deposit box. Parking is available for a surcharge.
Although the hotel doesn't have dining facilities, there are a number of restaurants in the vicinity. There is also a bar for guests' use. Buffet breakfasts are available at the hotel for a surcharge.
Guestrooms. The 90 guestrooms are decorated in pastel colours with matching bedspreads and curtains. Amenities include satellite television with pay movies, high speed Internet connections (surcharge), minibars, safes, and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. There has been a cheese market at Alkmaar since 1593. The market was once open until one o clock in the morning, with up to 300 tonnes of cheese being sold each day.
